Milwaukee Public Museum features The Scoop on Poop exhibit

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The Milwaukee Public Museum's newest exhibit opens to the public on Saturday, September 28th and although it may be disgusting, the Scoop on Poop is also educational.

Museum visitors had different questions about the exhibit, but the most popular question was simply, "why?"

"Doesn't get much more natural that this, no. Other than eating, it's one of the things all animals, including us, do," said Susan Borkin, Head of Natural Sciences at the museum.

Borkin explains the exhibit is focused on helping children and adults learn more about this form of waste and the ways it is handled.

"We take it for granted and we sort of flush is away, but there's a lot of things that go on in the natural world and poop is used for all kinds of them," said Borkin.

Several of those uses are exhibited through the interactive, and even hands-on, exhibit.

The Scoop on Poop will be at the Milwaukee Public Museum through January 14th.
