13-year-old injured after crashing jet ski into pier at Kenosha marina

KENOSHA (WITI) — A 13-year-old boy has been taken to the hospital after crashing a jet ski into a pier at South Port Marina in Kenosha on Saturday afternoon, September 28th. The accident happened around 2 p.m.

jet ski2Witnesses tell police the boy was driving the personal watercraft while his mother rode on the back. The jet ski accelerated and ran into the pier, ejecting the boy who landed on a rocky shoreline. The mother reportedly jumped off prior to the crash.

The boy was taken to Kenosha Memorial Hospital with unknown injuries. No one else was injured during the incident.

Authorities are deciding whether or not any citations will be filed.
