MILWAUKEE (WITI) — The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner says a six-month-old girl found dead Sunday, September 29th in a home near 15th and Center was co-sleeping with another sibling and possibly the mother on a couch.

The autopsy found there was no trauma to the child. The cause of death is pending further testing and review.

Officials were called to the home near 15th and Center after the mother found the child unresponsive on the couch. The report indicates the mother called 911 and administered CPR.

A report released by the Medical Examiner states that the mother’s initial story was that the child fell asleep on her chest following her feeding around 3 a.m. According to the report, the mother changed the story several times, and in the end, she denied sleeping with the child.

According to the Medical Examiner’s report, the child had a┬áhistory of septal defects requiring heart surgery, and eczema.
