Police officer shoots suspect at Culver's restaurant in Jackson

JACKSON (WITI) -- Officials in Jackson are investigating a shooting incident that occurred at the Culver's restaurant near Tillie Lake Ct. and Prairie View Lane.

It happened Sunday morning, October 6th.

Officials at the scene say officers were called to the restaurant for a report of an armed robbery.

When officers responded, a suspect came out and allegedly threatened officers with a weapon.

An officer then shot the suspect, who was taken to the hospital via Flight for Life. That suspect's condition is unknown at this time.

Officials say an employee at the Culver's restaurant suffered injuries due to grappling with the suspect, and may have been cut with a knife. The extent of that employee's injuries is unknown.

Multiple departments were called out to the scene on Sunday morning.

West Bend police will conduct the investigation into whether the officer-involved shooting was justified.

The Culver's restaurant was closed on Sunday, but was expected to reopen on Monday.
