Business Journal says Northridge auction won't happen till spring

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- According to FOX6's partners at the Milwaukee Business Journal, a Sheriff's auction for the foreclosed Northridge Mall won't happen until the spring.

The Business Journal says a Milwaukee County judge officially entered a foreclosure order for the property on Milwaukee’s far northwest side on Sept. 27th. She ordered a six-month redemption period before a sheriff’s auction can be held, meaning the auction can’t be held before March 27, 2014.

The 800,000 square-foot facility has sat empty since it was closed in 2003.

Recently, Bill Penzey of Penzey's Spices expressed interest in the facility, but will now have to wait until spring to bid on it.
