Mother says 27-year-old Milwaukee woman missing since Friday

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- A Milwaukee woman has been missing since Friday, according to the woman’s mother. The woman’s mother says 27-year-old Kelly Dwyer has been missing since Friday morning, October 11th.

Dwyer’s mother said she was first noticed missing when she failed to show up for a shift at Lululemon in the Third Ward. A co-worker went to Dwyer’s apartment, and Dwyer’s roommate said she hadn’t seen her — according to Dwyer’s co-worker.

Dwyer’s mother told FOX6 News she has been able to learn that Dwyer was out at the bars on Thursday night, and spent the night at a male friend’s home on the city’s East Side.

Dwyer was reportedly last seen on Friday morning, around 9:00 a.m.

Dwyer’s friends say she doesn’t have a car, so she would have taken a cab, or would have been on foot.

Dwyer’s mother says Dwyer hasn’t used her cell phone since 10:00 a.m. on Friday — something Dwyer’s mother says is very unusual.

"That was the last time she used her phone. She is very attached to her phone like any young person is these days.  It`s always beside her.  She`s always on it," Dwyer's mother, Maureen Dwyer said.

Dwyer’s mother is in Milwaukee, passing out flyers. Additionally, Dwyer’s friends have been trying to get the word out on Facebook.

"This the most awful, horrible thing anyone could ever go through.  I don`t know where my baby is and I may never see her again and every day that goes by gets harder and harder to believe that she`s alive somewhere. Any set of ears and eyes are going to help find Kelly. Either way, whatever the outcome is, I just need to find her," Maureen Dwyer said.

Police have not said whether foul play is involved -- though Dwyer's mother believes that is the case.

Dwyer's mother says Dwyer has been acting recklessly lately, and believes Dwyer has been meeting guys on a website called OkCupid. Dwyer's mother worries she may have met someone through that site that she couldn't handle.

Anyone with information on Dwyer's whereabouts is asked to call Milwaukee Police Sensitive Crimes at 414-935-7405.
