56-year-old man killed in crash near 24th and Hopkins

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred early Monday morning, October 14th near 24th and Hopkins. The victim was identified was 56-year-old James Jones.

According to officials, Jones was driving a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am westbound on Hopkins when he crossed into the eastbound lanes and struck an unoccupied parked car.

The incident occurred around 12:45 a.m.

Jones, who was the only occupant of the Grand Am, was conveyed to a local hospital, but later died as a result of injures sustained in the crash.

Milwaukee police are working with the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office to determine if there are any contributing medical factors that led to the crash.
