Daniel Bartelt waives right to preliminary hearing

WASHINGTON CO. (WITI) -- Daniel Bartelt, the 19-year-old man accused in the death of Jessie Blodgett, appeared in a Washington County court on Thursday, October 17th. He waived his right to a preliminary hearing -- and then the court bound him over for trial.

Bartelt faces four felony counts in connection in all — one count of first-degree intentional homicide for the Blodgett death. Blodgett, 19, was found dead in her home Monday, July 15th.

The other three charges are related to an alleged attack at a Richfield Park on July 12th. Those three charges include one count of attempted first-degree intentional homicide, one count of first-degree recklessly endangering safety, and one count of false imprisonment.

Bartelt is due back in court to enter a plea to the charges against him on Wednesday, November 27th.
