Intersection in New Berlin shut down after crash involving cow

NEW BERLIN (WITI) -- An intersection in New Berlin was shut down on Thursday evening, October 17th as crews dealt with an accident involving a cow.

Waukesha Co. Sheriff's officials responded to reports of a car hitting a pole near College Ave. and Moorland Road.

As it turned out, the car actually ran into a cow.

New Berlin police say the car was totaled, and the cow was killed. The cow had apparently escaped from a nearby farm, and the farmer was in the process of getting it back inside the fence.

The car's passenger suffered minor injuries. The driver was not hurt.
