Packers Women’s Assoc. collects 12,900 food items, $13,309

GREEN BAY (WITI) -- Fans attending Sunday’s Packers-Browns game donated 12,900 non-perishable food items as well as $13,309 for the Packers Women’s Association’s 27th annual Food Drive for Paul’s Pantry, a supplementary food distribution program for the needy in the greater Green Bay area.

“We are so thankful for the continued support of our fans who help make this food drive a success, said Laura Hawk, co-chairwoman of the drive. “This yearly food drive helps stock the shelves at Paul’s Pantry for nearly half the year, and we could not continue to help our community without their dedication.”

Overall, in 27 years of conducting the food drive, the PWA has collected nearly 985,000 non-perishable food items and $289,850 for Paul’s Pantry.

UnitedHealthcare and Paul’s Pantry assisted with the food drive and provided volunteers to collect donations before the game in the parking lots.

Additional donations and contributions can continue to be made directly at Paul’s Pantry.
