Packers, Badgers fans excited to see Scott Tolzien at the helm

GREEN BAY (WITI) -- The Green Bay Packers continued quarterback shuffle could be the hottest topic among Packers fans following Sunday's loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Aaron Rodgers was injured during last Monday's loss to the Chicago Bears -- suffering a fractured collarbone. This Sunday, starting QB Seneca Wallace suffered a groin injury early in the matchup with the Eagles -- sending newly-acquired QB Scott Tolzien into the game.

Tolzien had never played an NFL game before Sunday -- and was just signed to the active roster from the practice squad on Wednesday, November 6th.

Tolzien played college football at Wisconsin, where he was the starting quarterback for the 2010 Wisconsin Badger team that was co-champion of the Big Ten Conference.

Even those who bleed green and gold were a little nervous at the thought of Wallace stepping in for Rodgers on Sunday.

"I want to like him because he's a Packer, but I want Aaron Rodgers," one fan told FOX6 News.

However, with Wallace out with a groin injury, some said they were re-energized when Tolzien took the field -- excited to have a former member of the Wisconsin Badgers at the helm.

"I think it's just fate stepping in. I think we're all kind of down and out seeing Rodgers go down, but to have Tolzien come in -- there it's a game changer," a Packers fan told FOX6 News.

However, at least one Packers fan was less than thrilled to see newbie Tolzien on the field.

"You go from Aaron Rodgers who is Aaron Rodgers to Seneca Wallace and you're thinking 'okay, he's a veteran -- he's got some experience' -- and now you're going 'this kid just got signed off the practice field a week ago,'" that fan told FOX6.

As for which quarterback fans would like to see start the next game, the most popular answer was the name of a man who's not even on the roster yet -- Matt Flynn.
