911 calls released following rollover crash that shut down NB 794

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- 911 calls have been released following a serious crash that forced authorities to shut down the northbound lanes of the Lake Parkway at E. Howard Ave -- and left a woman in critical condition. It happened on Tuesday afternoon, November 12th.

Police say a 34-year-old woman from Milwaukee was driving a car east on Morgan Ave. when she drove through a guard rail, traveled over railroad tracks, through a fence, went airborne and over the southbound lanes of 794 — coming to rest on the northbound lanes of 794.

911 calls taken following the incident show some couldn't believe what they were seeing.

"There`s a car upside down on 794 in between Oklahoma and Howard.  Passengers appear to be trapped," a 911 caller said.

Witnesses say the vehicle involved in this crash was speeding on Morgan Avenue at nearly 100 miles-per-hour.

Moments after the crash, a man called 911 and raced over to the vehicle to try to help.

"Hello? Are you okay in there?" the 911 caller said.

Dispatcher: "Are you able to ask that person if they're okay?"

"Yes, I'm trying to do that right now. No one is answering," the 911 caller said.

Dispatcher: "We will get somebody right over there sir. If the situation changes, call us back."

"Did she come over the bridge? Oh my God, she flew over the bridge. Oh my God," the 911 caller said.

FOX6 News spoke with a witness off-camera on Wednesday who said a man came to the scene and identified himself as the victim's husband -- saying he had been looking for his wife all day.

Milwaukee police continue to investigate.
