WEST MILWAUKEE (WITI) — West Milwaukee police on Wednesday afternoon, November 13th responded to a bank robbery at Landmark Credit Union on W. National Avenue.

It happened a little before 2:00 p.m.

Police say a suspect entered the bank and approached the teller with a package, and demanded money from the teller before exiting the bank — leaving the package behind.

Officials say the suspect is described as an African-American man, approximately 50 years in age with a salt and pepper colored beard.

He was last seen headed south on foot from the bank.

The bank was evacuated due to the sensitive nature of the package — and the Bomb Squad was called out to the scene.

It was determined that the package was not dangerous.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to contact West Milwaukee police at 414-645-2151.
