Police respond to bank robbery, suspicious package in West Milw.

WEST MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- West Milwaukee police on Wednesday afternoon, November 13th responded to a bank robbery at Landmark Credit Union on W. National Avenue.

It happened a little before 2:00 p.m.

Police say a suspect entered the bank and approached the teller with a package, and demanded money from the teller before exiting the bank -- leaving the package behind.

Officials say the suspect is described as an African-American man, approximately 50 years in age with a salt and pepper colored beard.

He was last seen headed south on foot from the bank.

The bank was evacuated due to the sensitive nature of the package -- and the Bomb Squad was called out to the scene.

It was determined that the package was not dangerous.
