Police investigate death of 27-year-old man near 68th & Lisbon



MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee police are investigating the death of a 27-year-old man that occurred in the 2900 block of N. 68th St. early Monday morning, November 18th.

According to police, at about 2:15 a.m. the victim came home to find two unknown suspects inside his residence, attempting to steal items.

The victim confronted the suspects and a fight ensued.

During the fight, the victim sustained injuries that resulted in his death.

On Monday night, hundreds gathered outside the man's home to remember him. FOX6 News has learned the man killed, Christopher Gray, was a well-known club promoter in Milwaukee who had a lot of friends and fans.

Gray is better known by his nickname, "Caly Kris."

"Chris, I just want to say 'I love you, I love you, I love you,'" Gray's cousin, Shalika Evans said.

"He's got two sons -- without a father," community activist Tory Lowe said.

Messages flooded Twitter on Monday as folks learned of his death, including an RIP message from former Bucks player Brandon Jennings.

"Just to remember that he was a good person and whatever happened he didn`t deserve. He didn`t deserve this. He loved, loved, loved people -- not just his family. He loved people. Gentle giant is what he was," Cassandra Buloy said.

At this time, police are working to learn the identities of the two suspects, who they believe may have known the victim and/or had reason to target his residence.

Police have not officially confirmed the identity of the victim.
