County Board Chair Marina Dimitrijevic to run for State Assembly

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Marina Dimitrijevic, Chairwoman of the Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors, has announced her candidacy for the Wisconsin State Assembly.

Chairwoman Dimitrijevic has been elected to represent Milwaukee’s Bay View neighborhood located in Assembly District 19 for over 9 years.

Assembly District 19 includes Milwaukee’s Bay View, East Side, Downtown, Riverwest and Third Ward neighborhoods.

“I will be ready on day one to fight for Milwaukee in Madison. As I talk with residents I represent in District 19, many say they are concerned about the current direction of our state,” said Dimitrijevic.

United States Congresswoman Gwen Moore and Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett are supporting Marina for the Assembly.

"I am honored to have the support of two of our city’s most respected leaders,” said Dimitrijevic.

SEIU Wisconsin State Council and the Milwaukee County Deputy Sheriff’s Association have endorsed Marina for the Assembly.

“Wisconsin’s workers are part of the solution to our economy rebounding. I am proud to have growing support from the hard working men and women in labor who make up the backbone of our economy,” said Dimitrijevic.

Marina lives with her husband Eduardo in the heart of Bay View and loves spending time with their family: Karen, Mathias, and Lucia.
