Public hearing to be held regarding WIS 67 in Waukesha Co.

WAUKESHA CO. (WITI) -- The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Southeast region is announcing a public hearing for WIS 67, from Blue Ribbon Drive to Thackeray Trail, in Oconomowoc—including the WIS 67 northbound and southbound bridges over I-94.

WisDOT is developing the design for the roadway improvements to WIS 67 in the City of Oconomowoc and Village of Summit. WIS 67 is a major north-south facility in Waukesha County, providing access to and from I-94. WIS 67 needs to be reconstructed for the following reasons:


    The alternatives being considered on WIS 67 include: no-build (do nothing), reconstruction, reconstruction with future lanes.

    There will be no real estate relocations due to this project. Property acquisition is anticipated along the corridor. Property owners along the route are encouraged to attend the hearing.

    Construction is anticipated to begin in 2015, subject to change.

    Public Hearing Information

    The Public Hearing will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, November 20, 2013.


      Location: Oconomowoc Public Library, 200 South Street, Oconomowoc, WI.

      Interested persons may attend anytime between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to review displays and other hearing materials, ask questions, and provide oral and/or written testimony. WisDOT project staff will be available to explain the features of the project and answer questions.

      Information on how to present oral and written testimony will be provided at the public hearing. Written testimony can be submitted by mail or email after the hearing and will be included in the hearing transcript if postmarked/received no later than December 4, 2013.
