Milwaukee's Slice of Ice

MILWAUKEE — Milwaukee’s Slice of Ice is scheduled to open on Friday, November 29th. The rink will open at 11 a.m. — and until 1 p.m. that day, there will be free skate rental and free Pepsi products for everyone coming to skate.

The outdoor ice rink can be found at Milwaukee County’s Red Arrow Park at the corner of Water and State. It can comfortably accommodate 100 skaters at a time.

The 128-by-95 refrigerated oval is open through February (or March if the weather allows) – even in temperatures as high as 50 degrees! The rink is bordered by a 3-foot-6-inch railing, so even if you’re a skater with weak ankles, you can come out to enjoy the ice. There’s a warming house adjacent to the rink which offers restroom facilities, ice skate rentals, locked, and snacks (including coffee).

Throughout the skating season, ice skates may be rented for $7 per pair for ages 17 & under and $8 per pair for adults. Skaters with their own skates can skate for free.

The rental price for prepaid non-profit groups of 12 skaters or more is $3.50 per person for more information please call 414-257-8067.

Skate sharpening services are available on site for those who want to tune up their skates for the season.  The warming house provides a cozy place to take a break, coffee and bakery sold by Starbucks, and the Parks Skate window will be offering soda, beer, candy, and snacks.
