Sale of vacant MPS building gets okay from Common Council

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The Milwaukee Common Council voted 11-4 on Tuesday, November 26th to approve the sale of the former Malcolm X building to a local development team.

That team is proposing to turn the building into an international baccalaureate middle school and community center.

The sale was approved even though officials from St. Marcus Lutheran also asked to buy the building so they could expand their school.
