MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee police are investigating the death of a five-year-old boy.

Police say the boy was found in his apartment in the 1200 block of E. Singer Circle shortly before 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 27th. Now, teddy bears and balloons sit outside that apartment as a small memorial to the boy.

Police are awaiting the results of a Medical Examiner's autopsy to determine the cause of death. The case has been placed on non-disclosure by the Medical Examiner's Office.

A man who identified himself as the child's father said he saw his son on Sunday -- and was visibly distraught by the situation. That man claims his son died at the hands of another person, but at this point, police are calling this a death investigation.

The investigation in this case is ongoing.
