Medical Examiner identifies man 12 years after death

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office has identified a man that died 12 years ago after collapsing at an AA meeting. The victim has been identified as Oliveros Perdomo.

Perdomo died at a local hospital after collapsing at an AA meeting in May of 2001.

According to police, Perdomo had no form of identification, keys or other papers on him at the time of the collapse. Investigators say they also ran Perdomo's prints and searched missing persons reports, but did not find a match.

Earlier this year, officials reexamined the case, and were able to obtain information through The Department of Immigration.

According to officials, the documents showed that Perdomo was born in 1947 in San Perdro Sulu, Honduras. Officials say he was a permanent U.S. resident, but was not naturalized as a citizen of the U.S.

Eventually investigators found Perdomo's step-son in the Chicago area. The step-son told police that Perdomo and his mother separated years ago, and they lost contact.

Investigators say the step-son was able to positively ID Perdomo through photos.
