Michael Gorzney

RACINE CO. (WITI) — 27-year-old Michael Gorzney of Union Grove faces multiple criminal charges for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend at a Town of Yorkville home on December 10th.

Gorzney faces charges including strangulation and suffocation, misdemeanor batter, lewd and lascivious behavior and disorderly conduct.

According to the criminal complaint, police responded to a home in Yorkville after a 911 hang-up complaint came into the dispatch center. The complaint says the victim in this case “reported that her boyfriend had just strangled her and bit her face.” She told officers, “Gorzney had been drinking and that when he drinks, he becomes extremely violent.”

The complaint says Gorzney was banging on the victim’s door. When she finally opened the door, “Gorzney pushed his way in, stood in the living room, and pulled his privates out and swung them at her mother.” When Gorzney followed his girlfriend to her bedroom, he “asked her who had given her the rose she had received at work. It was later determined that she posted a picture of the rose on Facebook. She stated that she then asked Gorzney why it mattered and Gorzney began ripping items off the wall and breaking her possessions. She then stated, ‘He threw me into the door and started choking me to where I couldn’t breathe at all and then he bit my cheek by my lip.”

Deputies apparently found Gorzney at his mother’s trailer — and “he appeared to be significantly intoxicated.”

If convicted, Gorzney faces up to four years in prison.
