Milwaukee County deputy crashed into while responding to accident

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- A Milwaukee County Sheriff's deputy was crashed into Sunday morning, December 22nd while responding to another vehicle crash at I-94 and 92nd St.

The accident happened around 10:30 a.m.

The 16-year veteran deputy was approaching a crash site when a PT Cruiser began sliding and spinning out of control in traffic. The deputy activated his squad lights and slowed down to warn oncoming traffic.

At that point, a GMC Yukon slammed into the back of the squad car.

The deputy suffered neck and head pain and was treated and released from an area hospital. The driver and two passengers in the Yukon were not injured.

The Milwaukee Police Department issued a traffic citation to the driver of the Yukon for following too close.
