WEST ALLIS (WITI) -- The father of a 16-year-old boy who died following a struggle at a West Allis convenience store is demanding the District Attorney take action -- and Corey Stingley's dad is being backed by more than 1,000 others.

Craig Stingley started a petition on moveon.org asking for charges to be filed against the three men connected to his son's death. Currently there are more than 1,600 signatures.

"Every day gets a little more manageable, but it's not easy," said Stingley.

Sunday, December 29th will be the one year anniversary of Corey's death. The teenager died after three people restrained him at VJ's Food Mart in West Allis. The clerk claims Corey was stealing beer -- his father says he was trying to return in.

"They need to be brought to justice," said Stingley. "There needs to be a trial held on this case so that justice can be served."

Stingley is expected to hand over the petition to the D.A. in January.

"If they don't press the charges, if they don't pursue it, it's almost as if they can sweep the truth under the rug," Stingley said. "That shouldn't be."

A John Doe investigation into the case was launched in July. Stingley says the investigation has been completed and he is waiting on an answer. He is expected to meet with the DA in early January.
