2nd suspect charged in fatal shooting at Concertina Bar

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- A second suspect was charged on Friday, January 10th in the fatal shooting at the Concertina Bar on Milwaukee's south side.

The Milwaukee County District Attorney charged 25-year-old Joel Rivera of Sturtevant with felony murder.

Rivera and two other suspects, 22-year-old Jose Munoz and 23-year-old Carmelo Matos-Arzola, allegedly held up the bar with a gun on August 16, 2013. The owner of the bar shot and killed Matos-Arzola in self-defense. Rivera and Munoz, who was shot and injured, fled the scene and were later located and arrested in Illinois.

Rivera has been charged with the death of Matos-Arzola, while attempting to commit armed robbery party to a crime. At the time of the crime, Rivera was on probation for a previous armed robbery.

If convicted, Rivera faces up to 35 years in prison.
