UK officials want to question 3 in Madeleine McCann disappearance

LONDON (FOX) -- British police are one step closer to making an arrest in the 2007 disappearance of Madeleine McCann.

The Daily Mirror is reporting that police are preparing to travel to Portugal to make the first arrests since the case came under review in 2011.

British prosecution is sending an international letter of request to Portuguese police seeking permission to arrest three men who made calls to each other in the house after the young girl disappeared.

Madeleine was last seen at age three in her hotel room in Praia da Luz, where she was staying with her parents. Her parents were dining at a nearby restaurant with friends when Madeleine went missing. That has led to a global search.
