ROSENBERG, Texas (WITI) — A police officer from Rosenberg, Texas is being praised for taking some time with a young boy while on his beat.

The officer, Sgt. Ariel Soltura, was patrolling on Saturday, January 18th, when he noticed 10-year-old Jermaine Ford tossing a football by himself. The officer pulled over and played catch with the boy for a while — and it was all captured on Soltura’s squad dash camera.

The video showing Sgt. Soltura tossing the football with the boy became somewhat of an internet sensation after it was posted on the Rosenberg Police Department’s Facebook fan page.

As for young Jermaine, on the police department Facebook page he now says he wants to be a football player OR an officer.
