MILWAUKEE (WITI) — FOX6 News has learned two veterans walking from Milwaukee to Los Angeles are nearing their destination!

Tom Voss and Anthony Anderson, for the past five months, have been walking the 2,700-mile trek to raise money for Dryhootch — a local veterans non-profit organization.

The walk began on August 30th, and the two will finish the trek on February 1st.

The walk has three goals:

  • To raise donations for Dryhootch in the sum of $100,000
  • To raise awareness of the issues influencing Veterans and their families
  • For Voss and Anderson to take the time they feel they needed and didn’t take upon their return home from deployments in Iraq and separation from military service.

Currently, the men have raised approximately $70,000 dollars for Dryhootch –$50,000 cash and $20,000 from a grant given by the Greater Milwaukee Foundation.

FOX6 News has profiled these veterans on a few different occasions — most recently this past Sunday, January 26th.
