Work on WIS 83 to begin in Waukesha County

WAUKESHA CO. (WITI) -- The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) will begin reconstruction of WIS 83 from Perkins Road to Glacier Pass. WisDOT will begin work on this three-mile stretch Thursday, February 6th.

The work is expected to continue until late fall. Utility companies have been working in the area.

The initial work will begin west of the existing bridge over Glacier Drumlin State Trail. Mainline road work is expected to start in March, weather permitting.

Currently, heavy traffic volumes and a narrow roadway make left turns difficult and cause traffic backups. When work is completed, the improvements will allow left turns which will allow traffic to flow more smoothly.
