Wis. State Fair adds Everclear, Alabama to Main Stage lineup

WEST ALLIS (WITI) -- The music selection for this year’s Wisconsin State Fair is taking shape as two more of the 11 shows are announced for the Main Stage presented by Potawatomi.

Fans of ‘90s rock music are in for a great night of nostalgia as the Summerland Tour 2014 rocks the Main Stage presented by Potawatomi on Thursday, Aug. 7. The tour features alternative rock bands Everclear, Soul Asylum, Eve 6 and Spacehog. Everclear has sold more than nine million albums globally and is best known for modern rock hits and radio staples “Santa Monica,” “Father of Mine” and “Wonderful.” Soul Asylum is the genius behind the Grammy Award winning single, “Runaway Train,” and platinum albums “Grave Dancers Union” and “Let Your Dim Light Shine.” The pop-punk sounds of Eve 6 are best remembered for their singles “Inside Out” and “Here’s to the Night” and Spacehog rounds out the tour, who is best known for their single “In the Meantime.” ALL tickets for the Summerland Tour will be $25 and the concert will begin at 7:00 p.m.

Bringing back a long-time Fair tradition, legendary country band Alabama will return to the Wisconsin State Fair for the first time in 13 years to help bring the Fair to a close on Sunday, Aug. 10. After Randy Owen, Teddy Gentry and Jeff Cook left their home in Fort Payne, Ala. to spend the next six years playing bar gigs and collecting tips, the trio of young cousins signed their first record deal in 1977. They immediately changed the face of country music with a staggering 21 straight No. 1 singles, including “Tennessee River,” “Mountain Music” and “Dixieland Delight” – a record unmatched in any other genre.

An Evening with Alabama will begin at 6:00 p.m. and tickets will be $39 and $29. All TRACK TICKETS for this show will be GENERAL ADMISSION, STANDING ROOM ONLY. There will be no reserved track seating for this show. Reserved seating will begin in the lower grandstand, and both track general admission and lower grandstand reserved seats will be $39. Upper grandstand reserved seats will be $29.
All Main Stage tickets INCLUDE FAIR ADMISSION when purchased prior to entering the Fair Park.

Tickets for these shows go ON SALE FRIDAY, FEB. 28 at 10 a.m. at WiStateFair.com and the Fair Ticket Office. The Ticket Office is located at 7722 W. Greenfield Ave. and is open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Service fees apply to all online orders and purchasers will have print-at-home or mail-order options.
