Woman missing from Oregon, Wis. found after crashing her car

VILLAGE OF SUMMIT (WITI) -- A Dane County woman, missing for more than a day, was found in Waukesha County, after crashing her car into a vacant home in the Village of Summit.

Summit Police say the 80-year-old woman, who officials say suffers from a medical condition, crashed her car through a fence and into a home early Thursday morning, February 20th.

The woman was reported as an endangered missing person from Oregon, Wisconsin about 36 hours before the crash.

It is unclear what caused the woman to lose control of her vehicle.

It appears she was traveling eastbound. FOX6 News observed a broken fence, and pieces of the vehicle still at the scene on Thursday afternoon.

Police say the woman appeared confused after the crash. She was treated and released from the hospital after suffering minor injuries from the accident.

Summit police say they do not plan on citing the woman for the crash, however, it is recommending her driving privileges be reviewed by the Department of Transportation.
