DSHA girls make personal donation to children

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- More than 100 Milwaukee high school students made a very personal donation on Monday, February 24th.

The girls, all students of Divine Savior Holy Angels High School, cut off eight inches or more of their hair. It's part of their annual "Great Lengths" assembly.

The hair will be donated to the non-profit, "Children with Hair Loss." The children don't have hair for a number of reasons including alopecia, cancer, burns and medical conditions.

"You want to make kids feel comfortable around like where they are. It's like sad knowing that some kids don't have hair when I like have all this hair. So I just want to do something that's like nice," said Juhi Edwin, a DSHA student.

DSHA has contributed more than 770 ponytails in the ten plus years it has done this program.
