Sam's Club reveals plans to build in Town of Sheboygan

SHEBOYGAN (WITI) -- Sam’s Club announced on Tuesday, March 4th that it has submitted plans to the Town of Sheboygan to convert a former Menard's Self Storage Facility to a new Sam's Club.

The proposed 137,000 square-foot Sam’s Club will be located at the southeast corner of I-43 and County Road J in Eastern Sheboygan County and will include a members-only fueling station. Sam’s Club has also proposed developing two outlots, expanding the Town’s retail offerings and increasing commerce in the Town of Sheboygan.

In a news release, Town Chairman Dan Hein said, “The Town is very pleased to welcome a new Sam's Club to the community. A Sam's Club in the Town of Sheboygan will reinvigorate our commercial corridor and provide approximately 140 quality jobs to the area as well as add a vital increase to Town’s tax base. We look forward to working with a retailer as strong as Sam's Club to make this new development a reality."

In preparation for a tentative 2015 opening, Sam's Club and Menards will work together to relocate the existing self-storage tenants before construction begins.
