Two dead, one in critical condition following house fire in Beloit

BELOIT (WITI) — Two people are dead and one person is in critical condition following a house fire in Beloit Wednesday morning, March 5th.

Beloit police and fire departments were dispatched to a home on Fairview Drive in Beloit just before 4 a.m.

Initial arriving police officers assisted a victim out of the residence.  Heavy fire and smoke conditions were present. Beloit Fire personnel arrived on scene and extinguished the fire and conducted rescue efforts.

Three fire victims were located at the scene.  One adult victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of fire related injuries. The victim is in critical condition.

Two additional adult victims died at the scene.  The Rock County Coroner’s Office was notified and has responded to the scene.

The incident remains under investigation by the Beloit Fire Department in regards to the origin and cause of the fire.

Beloit Police are assisting with the investigation and conducting the related death investigations.
