HARTFORD (WITI) — Crews responded to a fire at Hartford Finishing Inc. on Wednesday afternoon, March 12th.

The call for the fire came in around 1:30 p.m.

Upon their arrival, fire crews found fire in the structure surrounding a large cure oven used in the facility’s paint process.

The fire was quickly brought under control — but a portion of the building suffered significant smoke and heat damage.

Fire officials say the affected portion of the building did not have fire sprinklers.

There were no injuries. Damage to property is estimated to be around $50,000.

Production has been interrupted in the affected portion of the plant, but some plant operations resumed by 5:00 p.m.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
