Kenosha man arrested, charged in several gas drive-offs

MOUNT PLEASANT (WITI) -- Mount Pleasant police say a 26-year-old Kenosha man has been arrested in connection with several gas drive-offs.

26-year-old Andrew Jones faces three felonies, and three misdemeanors.

Mount Pleasant police say on February 22nd, officers responded to the Kwik Trip on Durand Avenue after a store employee notified police that a vehicle was in their lot by a gas pump that matched the description of a suspect vehicle involved in several gas drive-offs from two Kwik Trip stores.

Investigators were looking into two cases involving the Durand Avenue Kwik Trip and three cases involving the Kwik Trip on State Highway 20 and I-94.

Police say that when the suspect vehicle arrived at the Durand Avenue Kwik Trip on February 22nd, the store employee did not authorize the pump. Jones then left the area.

Police were able to track down Jones' vehicle shortly after receiving the complaint.

After obtaining further evidence, Jones was taken to jail and held on two counts of theft, three counts of felony bail jumping and possession of marijuana.

Jones has a pre-trial conference scheduled for April 25th.
