Milwaukee Art Museum to host "Art in Bloom" March 27-30

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Forty gardening, floral arranging, and landscape designers from across the region are using flowers to interpret masterpieces on display at the Milwaukee Art Museum.

The exhibit "Uncommon Folk: Traditions in American Art" will serve as this year's inspiration during "Art in Bloom" next week.

The "Uncommon Folk" exhibit features folk and self-taught artists from the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

The event, called "Art In Bloom," happens Thursday, March 27 through Sunday, March 30.

It also includes lectures, seminars and activities for experienced and novice gardeners.

In a news release, museum director, Dan Keegan, says the event immerses visitors in beauty, but also provides tips on gardening.
