Officials believe house fire near 60th & Carmen started on mattress

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee Fire officials responded to a house fire near 60th and Carmen on Tuesday night, March 25th.

The fire broke out just before 8:00 p.m.

Fire officials believe the fire started on a mattress on the second floor of a 1.5 story Cape Cod style home.

Five residents were home at the time of the fire, including two adults and three children. They were displaced from their home, and the Red Cross is working with them.

No one was injured.

Fire officials had the fire under control within about a half-hour.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
