Retailers benefit from Badgers' trip to Final Four

ADISON (AP) — The Wisconsin Badgers' trip to the Final Four is generating additional revenue for some retailers.

Sales of Wisconsin apparel are brisk this week as the Badgers prepare to take on the University of Kentucky in Arlington, Texas Saturday night. At Campus Street Sportswear in Madison, owner Mike Dunbar says sales are "probably tenfold compared to a regular week."

Sports bars around the state will likely see extra business for the game Saturday. Pooley's Sports Bar owner Geoff Pooley predicts Saturday will be one of his biggest nights of the year. The Madison bar and event center has 38 televisions, including three 65-inch TVs.

Typical Saturday business at Topper's Pizza in Madison usually generates $4,000 to $5,000. Last Saturday when the Badgers advanced, the restaurant did $7,000 in business.
