Marquette lets women's coach Mitchell go

MILWAUKEE (AP) —  Marquette says women's basketball coach Terri Mitchell will not return next season.

Mitchell coached the Golden Eagles to a 348-215 record and 15 postseason appearances in 18 seasons. She also was a Marquette assistant for five seasons.

The Golden Eagles went 22-11 this season, losing to Indiana in the second round of the WNIT. Mitchell coached Marquette to the 2008 WNIT title.

Interim Marquette athletic director Bill Cords announced the move on Wednesday night.
