Toddler found wandering, half-dressed, in trailer park

WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis. (AP) — A Wood County agency has taken custody of an 18-month-old boy who was found wandering, half-dressed, about a block away from home while his father slept.

A Daily Tribune Media report says the toddler will be turned over to a relative.

Wisconsin Rapids police say a care worker spotted the boy wandering around the Thousand Oaks Trailer Park on Friday morning. He was wearing a short-sleeved shirt, diaper and one sock.

Police Lt. Brian Krzykowski says officers went to the boy's home and woke the father, who didn't know his son was missing.

It was the second case in three days in which a Wood County child was left unsupervised. A 35-year-old Marshfield man had left his 2-year-old daughter unsupervised, and she was found Wednesday about 2:15 a.m., barefoot and in pajamas.
