Megan Huntsman

(CNN) — Unbelievable. That’s how a police captain described the case. A 39-year-old woman in Utah is in custody, accused of murder, after authorities found the remains of seven infants at a home where she used to live.

“During the course of the investigation, information was obtained that over a 10-year period a 39-year-old female gave birth to the infants and then killed them. The female was booked into the Utah County Jail on six counts of murder,” Pleasant Grove, Utah, police said in a statement.

Capt. Michael Roberts identified the woman as Megan Huntsman. It was not immediately clear why she faces six, not seven, counts of murder.

The bodies were found at a home where Huntsman had lived until 2011, said Roberts, adding that the residence is currently occupied by family members of her estranged husband.

People were cleaning out the garage, saw a suspicious bag, opened it and found the remains of the first infant, he said.

“A search warrant was obtained for the residence and during the execution of the warrant, officers discovered six additional infant bodies. Each infant was found packaged in separate containers,” the police statement read.

According to Roberts, a second search warrant was issued for Huntsman’s current home, but nothing of interest was found there. She is expected to appear in court either Monday or Tuesday, he said.

If she didn’t want the first one why did she have 6 more?!?! And how was nno one noticing what happened to the babies after birth?? She should have just gave them up for adoption if she didn’t want them! People are crazy!!!

Why even go into logical reasoning like birth control or adoption. Anyone who can do this has something fundamentally wrong with their brain and should never see the outside of a prison again. What I want to know is how you could carry 7 babies and not have family, friends, neighbors or coworkers ever ask where the babies went? No one noticed the belly bump was gone?!? 7 times?!? How does this happen? Where is/are the father/fathers?

Were these babies born and alive? I do not get it? Were they her kids? How do they know it was her if she has not lived there in years? People are assuming a lot here, but none makes any sense. Just because the police arrest someone does not make them guilty. But if she is, she has to be insane….

They didn’t say whether these infants were full term babies in this short yet one sided report. She may have just been unlucky in her pregnancies and had miscarriages and instead of seeing a doctor to dispose of their remains she may have suffered some sort of mental breakdown and started holding on to their remains. So until he full story is told people should try to reserved their comments on killing her, or passing any judgement whatsoever. Police must do their job first, so much for being innocent until proven guilty, or the fact that she may not have done these killings herself, perhaps that estranged husband did, and his family are acting as if they knew nothing about it. How can a woman carry 7 babies to full term and no one in his or her family have no idea she’s with child? , and better yet her husband? There is always far more to any story than just what meets the eye.

After digging a little deeper into her story I see she in fact did confess to killing 6 of these infants. And seeing her photo she appears to be suffering some sort of mental disturbance. But I do believe her so called estranged husband knew full well what was happening, if not in on it himself and when he was moving back in he had help and when he had discovered that she hadn’t removed their bodies he went into survival mode pointing any and all blame solely on her. After all he just got out of prison on a 9 year sentence. I know he’s not looking forward to going back. I don’t doubt that had she wanted to cover this up she would have found a way to dispose of their tiny remains, but she left them there like a reminder to him of just how messed up her life was while being married to him. It’s all so horrifying. All anyone can do is pray for those poor babies and for justice to prevail in the manner in which it should. And that all parties responsible, if in fact there are, be held accountable along with her.
