Nine was nice, Brewers streak ends 4-0

MILWAUKEE --  The Brewers sure enjoyed beating the Red Sox, Phillies, and Pirates in rolling up a nine-game winning streak.  However, it’s the Cardinals who snap that run on Monday night, 4-0 at Miller Park.  Starting pitcher Lance Lynn holds the Crew scoreless over seven innings before Carlos Martinez finishes up.  Milwaukee only has three losses this season, but two of them now belong to Matt Garza, in games in which his team was shut out.

The big hit of the night was a three-run homer by John Jay in the top of the 6th inning.  Earlier, Jhonny Peralta hit a solo homer off Garza.

Brewers lefthander Wei-Chung Wang finally made his major league debut, thirteen games into the season, and pitched  a scoreless ninth inning.
