Thirsty? Love beer? Then Milwaukee Beer Week is for you!

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Thirsty? Love beer? Then this is the week for you! This week is Milwaukee's fourth annual "Beer Week." It kicked off on Saturday, April 26th and continues through Saturday, May 3rd.

Beer lovers were on hand Sunday, April 27th at Milwaukee's Hinterland Erie Street Gastropub, which hosted its once-a-year Sunday brunch.

"This is my first time, and it's awesome! I think this is probably the first of many. We have today to plan the rest of it for the week," Lorna Torres said.

"As craft (beer) has really emerged as a wonderful product, we really wanted to showcase that, and part of that is doing this craft beer week every year," John Lutz said.

Lutz is with Beechwood Distributors, which is responsible for the development of Milwaukee Beer Week.

The event offers participants a passport, which they can have stamped at participating "passport destinations."

Each event occurring during Milwaukee Beer Week is worth two points.

At the conclusion of Milwaukee Beer Week, participants' passports can be redeemed for various prizes.

Hinterland is just one of dozens of beer-boasting businesses sharing in this celebration of suds.

"There’s amazing beer, amazing restaurants and bars -- a lot of really creative people, so we’re kind of bringing it all together, compiling it into one week," Mike Matousek with Hinterland said.

Beer lovers showed up to Hinterland on Sunday for its second annual Hinterland Sunday Brunch.

"It’s a chance for us to showcase our beer and show what we do with the beer," Hinterland Executive Chef Dan Van Rite said.

It involves creating a food menu featuring a bounty of beer-inspired items.

"It makes you be creative because, you know, every beer has a different bitterness content to it and sugar content. They all vary, so you have to practice it," Van Rite said.

Milwaukee Beer Week continues through May 3rd -- with dozens of events scheduled.
