Milwaukee County War Memorial

MILWAUKEE (WITI) — The cost of fixing the Milwaukee County War Memorial’s heating and cooling system is coming in at over a million dollars more than the initial estimate.

The cost of that work is now projected at $4.5 million.

The increase is due to ducts in the building that will have to be replaced. Officials initially thought they could be reused.

Milwaukee County agreed to $10 million in repairs to the property.

Because of the increased cost for the heating system, other repairs like replacing the roof might have to wait.
