BUSTED: Man arrested trying to flee Racine after Beloit homicide

RACINE (WITI) -- Racine police are announcing the arrest of an individual wanted in an April 25th homicide in Beloit.

Racine police say they were contacted by the Beloit Police Department after learning that a homicide suspect may have fled to an address in Racine.

Members of the Greater Racine Gang Task Force and Special Investigations Unit began monitoring the home -- and at approximately 10:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 30th, a party believed to be the suspect exited the home and left in a vehicle.

The vehicle was eventually stopped on I-94 by the State Patrol and Racine County Sheriff's Department.

The suspect, a 20-year-old man, was taken into custody without incident.

Police say he was in the process of fleeing Racine to a new location.

He is being held in the Racine County Sheriff's Department on an active warrant for first degree intentional homicide.
