Harsh winter, dismal spring is hurting the Milwaukee County Zoo

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee County Zoo officials are hoping the rest of the year will be better!

Zoo officials say they're 26% short of their annual revenue goal through March.

They're blaming bad weather and construction work related to the Zoo Interchange construction project for the setback.

The Milwaukee County Zoo is right now dealing with a net deficit of over $150,000.

The Zoo director believes they could eliminate the shortfall if the weather improves this spring and summer.
