BROWN DEER (WITI) -- After a brief absence along Brown Deer Road -- Walmart is coming back to Brown Deer, and with it, hundreds of jobs. The hiring process is already underway for the approximately 300 associates that will work at the new Walmart store.

"It's coming together fast," Jason Radliff -- the store manager of the North Shore Walmart store said.

Construction workers continue to transform the former Lowe's store on Brown Deer Road into a Walmart Supercenter.

"Basically it's just one big empty box and we're converting it to fit into the grocery things we need -- such as the coolers and the things like that, so we can have a full grocery section in the store," Radliff said.

As the construction process continues, the hiring process is underway as well.

"We have 300 positions, roughly, that we're filling -- both full and part-time," Radliff said.

Applications will be accepted until July 7th. The store is expected to open in August.

"If you like gardening, we have lawn and gardening. If you like electronics, we have that. If you like food, we have food sections," Radliff said.

Radliff says there are also overnight stocking positions available -- and greeters and supervisors are needed.

"We have just about anything. If you have an interest, a Supercenter can cater to most of those interests," Radliff said.

Once the positions are filled, the new employees will help to get the store ready for the next phase.

"We take all the people that we hire here, and many of them have never worked retail before. We go in and set this store up in six weeks, so that it's ready and perfect by August," Radliff said.

For those looking to work at the new Brown Deer Walmart Supercenter -- time is of the essence.

"We got a couple more months to go and we open in no time," Radliff said.

Radliff says so far, about 1,000 applications have been submitted.

If you would like to apply, you're asked to visit Walmart's hiring center at 3900 West Brown Deer Road between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 9:00 p.m.
