ROAD TRIP! Harley-Davidson Museum ready to unveil new exhibit

MILWAUKEE (AP) — The Harley-Davidson Museum is highlighting the American road trip in a new exhibit this summer in Milwaukee.

It features photographs, film footage, slide shows and vintage travel memorabilia that the museum says depict the evolution of the road-travel landscape in the United States.

In a news release, Bill Davidson, vice president of the Harley-Davison Museum, says nearly everyone has a road trip memory and the exhibit speaks to those fond memories.

The exhibit is separated into three parts: one focuses on the birth of leisure travel in the 1930s, the second is about the "Golden Era" of travel after World War II and the last looks at the road trip in the modern era.

The exhibit called "The American Road" opens June 14 and runs through Sept. 1.
