Man dies after shooting near Shalom Center in Kenosha...but who shot him?



KENOSHA (WITI) -- FOX6 News has learned a 33-year-old man shot near the Shalom Center in Kenosha on Wednesday afternoon, May 21st has now died.

The Shalom Center is located in the 1700 block of 62nd Street.

Kenosha police say a 33-year-old man was shot while sitting in a car.

It is unknown at this time whether the man shot himself -- or whether he was shot by someone else.

Police were conducting interviews with the man, and witnesses in the neighborhood.

Neighbors tell FOX6 News they heard one loud "bang," and then saw a man bleeding in the street.

Neighbors say the man got right back into the vehicle and drove himself to the hospital.

Neighbors say a second man jumped out of the truck and took off running.

The shooting incident happened just before 1:30 p.m.

Police have not recovered a weapon.

The victim in this case was able to drive himself to a hospital for treatment.

He later died as a result of injuries suffered.

The investigation is ongoing.

Kenosha Unified School District tells FOX6 News four schools have been given the "all clear" but were briefly placed on lockdown due to the incident near the Shalom Center.

Those schools include: Brass Community School, Frank Elementary School, Kenosha School of Technology, and Lincoln Middle School.
